Coverage Options for Harley-Davidson, Indian, Honda, and Other Cruisers, From Carriers Who Know the Road
At Roamly, we're not just insurance agents — we're riders who know a cruiser rarely stays stock for long. New pipes, a better seat, saddlebags, and a passenger on weekend rides all change what your coverage needs to do, and we'll help you find a policy that fits the bike you actually ride.
Cruisers are usually among the more affordable bikes to insure, though the price climbs with the bike's value. As of October 2026, Progressive advertises liability-only motorcycle coverage starting as low as about $75 a year (not available in D.C.). One national study puts average full coverage at about $399 a year. In one comparison site's quote sample, a Harley-Davidson Road King ran about $223 a month, compared with about $154 for a Street 750. Your price depends on your bike's value and engine size, your age and riding record, where you live and park, and the coverage you choose.

Get a Quote on Cruiser Motorcycle Insurance That Fits How You Ride
Whether it's a Sunday run to the coffee shop, a weekend two-up, or a bike you've built out piece by piece, Roamly works with carriers who understand cruisers. We'll help you find coverage so you can focus on the ride.
We know a cruiser isn't a sport bike. Roamly helps you find the coverage that fits with how you ride, from dirt trails to open roads.
Most insurers offer minimal coverage for custom parts. Our partners provide up to $20,000 in coverage for your aftermarket mods and custom work.
Most insurers don’t cover organized track events, riding schools, and time trials. Push your limits. We’ll make sure you’re covered.
Roamly compares policies from carriers that insure Harley-Davidson motorcycles, along with Indian, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and other cruisers. Roamly is an independent insurance agency and isn't affiliated with Harley-Davidson or its branded insurance program.
It depends on the model, your age and riding record, and where you live. Larger, higher-value models usually cost more: as of October 2026, one comparison site's quote sample put the cost at about $154 a month for a Street 750 and about $223 a month for a Road King. Getting quotes from more than one carrier is the best way to see your actual price.
Almost every state requires liability coverage to ride a motorcycle on public roads, and minimum limits vary by state. If you finance your bike, your lender will likely require comprehensive and collision coverage too.
Only up to your custom parts and equipment limit. Standard policies may cover only factory parts, so check how much aftermarket coverage your policy includes, add more if your upgrades are worth more, and disclose engine modifications when you get a quote.
The biggest factors are your bike's make, model, value, and engine size, your age and riding record, where you live and park the bike, how many miles you ride, your credit in states that allow it, and the coverage and deductible you choose. Completing a rider safety course or adding an anti-theft device may also earn a discount with some carriers.
Policies typically exclude wear and tear and normal maintenance, and mechanical breakdown is usually an optional add-on where it's offered. Aftermarket parts beyond your custom equipment limit and modifications you didn't disclose may not be fully covered, and racing or riding on a track is often excluded. Roamly can help you compare optional coverages that may fill some of these gaps.
