From the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway on WY 296 to Snowy Range Pass on WY 130, Roamly works with carriers who understand how Wyomingites actually ride.
Requirements and regulations may change. Verify with the Wyoming Department of Insurance and the Wyoming Department of Transportation for the most current information.
Wyoming leaves helmets up to riders 18 and older, doesn't require underinsured motorist coverage, and treats riding uninsured as a misdemeanor that can mean jail time. Here's what actually shapes your policy.
The state requires 25k/50k bodily injury and $20k property damage. Uninsured motorist coverage comes with your policy unless you reject it, but underinsured motorist coverage isn't required at all — so it's worth asking about. We'll help you figure out what makes sense for how you ride.
Your Sport Chief with the new exhaust and custom paint isn't a stock bike. Roamly works with carriers who may value your sweat equity, not some database guess.
Riders come for the Beartooth Highway, the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, and Yellowstone. Want to list your bike on Twisted Road or Riders Share for them? Many personal policies exclude rental use, so check yours first. Roamly works with carriers who may be able to help.
After a DUI or a conviction for riding uninsured, the Wyoming Department of Transportation requires an SR-22 for three years. Roamly works with carriers that file SR-22s, and we'll help you get the filing started. No judgment.
The Beartooth, the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, and the roads into Yellowstone draw riders from all over the country, and a bike can do more than sit in the garage between your own rides. Listing yours on Twisted Road or Riders Share can help it earn its keep, but many personal policies exclude rental use — check yours before you hand over the keys. Roamly works with carriers who may cover your bike even when it's rented through legitimate platforms, which may help you earn from your bike while keeping it protected.
Wyoming mandates 25/50/20 liability coverage for motorcycles, the same as for cars. That's $25k per person and $50k per accident for bodily injury, plus $20k for property damage. Uninsured motorist coverage is included unless you reject it, underinsured motorist coverage is optional, and Wyoming is an at-fault state with no PIP, so medical payments coverage is an optional add-on worth considering. Riders under 18 need a helmet, and every rider's headlight has to be on at all times. The minimums keep you legal, but they won't go far if you total someone else's Road Glide or hurt someone badly — and liability alone doesn't pay to fix or replace your own bike. We'll help you figure out what makes sense for your situation.
You built your bike the way you wanted it: Vance & Hines exhaust, Corbin seat, custom paint, and upgraded suspension. Stock book value doesn't account for the work you put in or the parts you upgraded. Roamly works with carriers who offer Agreed Value coverage options — we'll help document your build so it may be insured for an agreed amount that reflects your upgrades, which may help if you ever need to file a claim.

We know a cruiser isn't a sport bike. Roamly helps you find the coverage that fits with how you ride, from dirt trails to open roads.
Most insurers offer minimal coverage for custom parts. Our partners provide up to $20,000 in coverage for your aftermarket mods and custom work.
Most insurers don’t cover organized track events, riding schools, and time trials. Push your limits. We’ll make sure you’re covered.
Wyoming requires 25/50/20 liability coverage: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, plus $20,000 for property damage. Uninsured motorist coverage is included unless you reject it. These minimums keep you legal, but they might not be enough if you cause serious damage or injury. Requirements may change — verify with the Wyoming Department of Insurance.
Only if you're under 18. Operators and passengers under 18 need a helmet that meets the state's standard, and you can't carry a passenger under 18 without one. Adults can decide for themselves, and Wyoming law doesn't require eye protection. Your headlight does have to be on at all times, day or night.
It depends on your bike, riding history, where you live, and the coverage you pick. Keeping or rejecting uninsured motorist coverage, adding underinsured motorist coverage, and adding collision, comprehensive, or medical payments will all change the price. Roamly is a brokerage — we work with carriers who may cover your motorcycle while it's rented through platforms like Twisted Road and Riders Share. Many personal policies exclude rental use, so it's worth checking yours before you list. Coverage terms, conditions, and availability vary by state and policy.
Roamly works with carriers who offer Agreed Value coverage options. We may help document your mods up front so your bike can be insured for an agreed amount, not a depreciated database number. If it's totaled, the agreed value — less any deductible — is what the policy is built around. Coverage terms, conditions, and availability vary by state and policy.
Liability is what Wyoming requires — it pays for damage you cause to other people and their property. "Full coverage" usually means adding collision and comprehensive, which help pay to repair or replace your own bike after a crash, theft, vandalism, or hail. If you're financing, your lender will likely require both.
An SR-22 is a certificate your insurer files with the Wyoming Department of Transportation to prove you carry at least the minimum coverage. It's required after a DUI, a conviction for riding uninsured, and certain other suspensions, and you'll need to keep it for three years. If it lapses, your license is suspended until it's refiled. Roamly works with carriers that file SR-22s and can help you keep it active. Coverage terms, conditions, and availability vary by state and policy.
It can. In Wyoming, credit can't be the sole reason an insurer cancels, denies, or non-renews your policy, and the insurer has to tell you when credit is used to underwrite your policy and when it works against you. Your riding record, bike, and location are also major rating factors, and how much each one counts varies by carrier.
It's a misdemeanor. As of September 2026, a conviction can bring a fine of $500 to $1,500 and up to six months in jail, plus a three-year SR-22 requirement. On a second or later offense, you'll also have to turn over your registration and plates. Officers can check your coverage online at a stop, so it's worth keeping your policy current.
