Sitting on hold with an insurance company that treats your custom-built van like it's just another minivan. Getting told your boat is "too specialized" or that your ATV doesn't qualify for the level of protection your lifestyle requires.
That frustration? It's exactly why we exist.
2015
Our parent company Outdoorsy launched as an RV rental marketplace. Pretty quickly, we realized there was a problem: traditional insurers weren’t keeping up with the recreational industry – especially those who wanted to rent their RVs out.
2019
We'd had enough. Roamly was born to solve what others couldn't (or wouldn't). We're adventurers who got fed up with an outdated approach to insurance for the vehicles that fuel our adventurous lifestyles. So we built something better.
2022
Roamly outgrows the broker-only model by creating the industry’s first RV insurance product that allows RVers to rent their RVs when they’re not using them with our digital-first approach. Finally, quote-to-bind online that actually worked for RV folks.
2023
We expanded partnerships with carriers like Progressive, National General, and Safeco. Added Vehicle Protections because roadside assistance and tire coverage shouldn't be an afterthought.
2024
Brought the same expertise to motorcycles, boats, and toys. Because if insurance was broken for RVers, it was broken for all adventurers.
2025
Adding personal lines (auto, home, flood, jewelry) because why stop at just adventure gear? Current status: $110M+ in coverage for people who actually use their stuff.
2026
Roamly’s best year yet.
